Why
JobsMeta?
One day, I got tired of having to go and manually crawl a dozen web sites for fresh contracts. Being a contractor, I go through patches that last days at a time every six months or so when I am looking for a contract. The process is both time consuming, and exceptionally boring. All that time spent looking through the different web sites and writing dozens of emails every day, sometimes several times per day, could be spent so much more productively. JobsMeta crawls multiple web sites for jobs, and downloads them to the local database. It re-crawls for updates continuously, and the turn-around time is generally in the region of around 5 minutes, depending on the traffic. Result: Jobs from all the crawled sites are aggregated down to one site. Layout of queries is such that everything is on the main query page. This means that there is no requirement to go to a different page to get to all the job details like the email address in order to post an application. Result: Application process is quicker. JobsMeta is the tool for overcoming the arduous task of job hunting, and making it less time consuming (making it less boring is pretty much impossible). This is a great idea!
